Professional Team management is a minor module that is customized in the different istances and assume different names according to the methodology to whom it's devoted.
Professional Team management is a minor module that is customized in the different istances and assume different names according to the methodology to whom it's devoted. It presents the same tools of Project Teams Management module, as it enables the managers to create teams, associate team members, evaluate them on these skills and, eventyally, promoting and managing the skill development actions. Unlike the other team management module, Professional Team Management doesn't admit the selection of team requirements, as they are established by default in several standard typologies that must be respected.
The different Team typologies are defined in the customization of the module. Best applications of this module are specific metodologies, like World Class Manufacturing, which is based on the concept of 12 different technical pillars. In WCM applications, pillar team requirements will be set by default, defining also some pillar team roles that can be granted to team members. Once associated the resource to a professional team devoted to one pillar and to a specific pillar team role, the resource will be asked to respect the standard requirements. Required skills won't be changed, whereas it will be the possibility to change only the requested level.
Professional Team Manager is named by the typology of the team that he must manage. So, if for example we will have a "Safety" team as one of the standard teams, we will have for each site only one Safety team with one Safety team manager. We will have a double reporting flow, as he will report to the Site WCM Team Manager (by an organizational point of view) and to the Branch Safety Team Manager by a methodological point of view. The same relation will occur between Branch Safety team manager and their responsibles: he will report to the Branch WCM Team manager and to the General Safety Team Manager. Finally we will have a General WCM Team Manager who will monitor and overview all the activities managed in this module.
It can appear a little strange, but this is exactly how methodological activities take place in large organization and this is why this module is one of the most used in Panoptikon applications.
